CONCEPT
In this abstract ceramic wall installation, Elizabeth Nenarokov explores the profound connection between human senses and emotional experience, focusing on sight. The half-sphere forms, resembling human eyes, represent the intricacy and uniqueness of perception. By engaging with the senses—sight, sound, touch—Nenarokov examines how these organs are crucial to how we understand and interact with the world.

The installation invites viewers to reflect on how we often look into the eyes of others, especially loved ones, yet fail to notice details like the color of their eyes. This paradox highlights our tendency to overlook the richness of what we perceive daily. Nenarokov's sculptural eyes serve as a reminder that sight is not just about perceiving; it is a bridge to understanding, feeling, and connecting.

Through this work, Nenarokov urges us to slow down and truly see—not just observe the world, but appreciate its details and beauty. By elevating the eye to an object of contemplation, she reminds us that no two eyes are ever the same, just as no two people or experiences are identical. The installation is a call to engage more deeply with our senses and to pay closer attention to the nuances of the world around us.
